Keep the Ice Coming

Snow cones are free for every player at For the Players pickup — no exceptions, no price tag. Snow cones start Thursday, July 9 — and we’ve got the first night covered. But keeping it going takes community support: that’s how we pay for everything — the snow cones, the goals, the balls, the gear, and free pickup itself. Every few dollars turns a hot night into a highlight of some kid’s summer. 100% of gifts go to our free pickup soccer program — and the snow cones that come with it.

Getting this rolling took some gear: a $100 snow cone machine and a $200 field battery to power it (no outlets at the pitch!). Early donations help pay off the setup — after that, every dollar goes to the ice, cups, and syrup, and to keeping free pickup going: the soccer goals, loaner cleats, balls, pinnies, and cones that make every session happen.

Why free? For the Players exists to remove barriers — no kid should watch from the sideline because of a few dollars. That goes for the soccer and the snow cones. Everything we do is powered by community support. For the Players Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-2341465); donations are tax-deductible.
