If you’ve been out there — a summer night, 70 players, ages 3 to 40, treats going fast — you already know. What’s happening on that field is bigger than soccer.

If you believe in it, community support is how it grows: more free pickup, reaching more kids in more neighborhoods — Chesapeake, Norfolk, and beyond — so every kid in Hampton Roads has somewhere free to play.

The actual math on treats: popsicles are $5.00 a box of 24, and we bring two boxes — that’s 48 popsicles for $10. Ice runs $7.00 for the two bags it takes to keep them frozen through the session. So $17 covers treats for everybody, all night.

Why free? For the Players exists to remove barriers — no kid should watch from the sideline because of a few dollars. That goes for the soccer and the popsicles. Everything we do is powered by community support. For the Players Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-2341465); donations are tax-deductible.
