Our activation journey
Each site is a story of partnership — schools, coaches, families, and supporters making something real together.
Blair Middle School
Our first activation. Two professional-grade 24×8 soccer goals donated, ending a years-long routine where players walked a half-mile each way to a nearby elementary school just to access goals. Featured by Norfolk Public Schools.
Alanton Elementary School
Our second activation and our first in Virginia Beach. Two professional-grade 24×8 soccer goals donated, ceremony held, and a community partnership launched. One boy and one girl took the first ceremonial shots in front of cheering classmates. The Alanton Pitch went on to host our free pickup soccer all summer.
The Great Neck Pitch
Our first field built from the ground up. An unused stretch of church lawn became a 140 × 140 ft grass pitch — leveled with sand, seeded, and mowed every week. Backstop netting went up 16 feet high, and goals come in several sizes that move anywhere on the field. There's a playground for younger siblings and a covered picnic table for parents. Home to free Friday pickup soccer, clinics, group training, and community play.
The Great Neck Pitch is private property and is not open to the public. Play here is by scheduled For the Players Foundation programming only. We're grateful to Great Neck Baptist Church for opening this space to local kids.
The next field
Three sites down. We're working on the fourth right now and we'll announce it as soon as it's ready. Every one of these started the same way — someone told us about a piece of ground that wasn't being used. Have a field, a lot, or an empty stretch of grass at your school, church or neighborhood? The More Play Network
Building and activating soccer spaces at Hampton Roads schools, parks, and communities — and now powering our free pickup soccer, where kids always play free. Goals go in, equipment arrives, programs begin, and a forgotten corner of a campus becomes a field that matters.

Covering registration fees, uniforms, and gear so no child sits out because of what their family can or cannot afford. Every player sponsored is a kid back on the field.

Cleats for Kids
Collecting and redistributing gently-used cleats to youth players across Hampton Roads. A pair sitting in a closet becomes the pair a kid needed to finally join the team.
