Free Pickup Soccer
Drop-in open play for everyone in Hampton Roads — kids, teens, parents, and adults. Kids always play free — no fees, no tryouts, no barriers. Adults 18+ jump in for $5, and every dollar goes right back to the kids.
Adults: Pay Your $5 →Friday Night Pickup
September pickup is on Fridays at the Great Neck Pitch. Show up, grab a pinnie, and play — no fees for kids, no tryouts, no sign-ups beyond the one-time waiver below.
Pickup Schedule — September 2026
What to expect: everyone plays together — kids, teens, and adults. Grab a pinnie, join a team, and rotate on and off the field, pickup-style. When numbers and ages call for it, our coaches break players into appropriate groups to keep games fun, fair, and safe. A friendly, all-ages game and a positive place to learn and have fun. It’s come-and-go, so parents are responsible for their own players (under 10, a parent stays). No cleats? Borrow our loaners — just bring your own socks.
Adults 18+: kids always play free — grown-ups who play chip in $5, and every dollar goes back into free soccer for the kids. Pay your $5 here or scan the QR code at the sign-in table.
Check before you come. September pickup is Fridays, but our days are built around the staff and volunteers we have on hand, so they can change from week to week — and we add extra dates all the time. The calendar above and the app always have the current schedule, plus the rain call each afternoon.
Community support keeps it free. Donations from neighbors like you cover coaching costs and everything we haul out to the field — soccer balls, cones, corner flags, pinnies, pop-up goals, grass and field maintenance — plus the ice and popsicles that keep everybody cool out there. It’s how every kid plays, no fees, ever.

Check in when you arrive
Say hi to one of our coaches when you get to the field so we know you’re here and your waiver is on file. Playing and 18+? Your $5 goes right back to the kids — pay ahead here or scan the QR code at the sign-in table. If you marked “no” for photo consent on the waiver, your player will get a yellow wristband — that’s how our coaches, volunteers, and photographers know to keep them out of any photos and videos.

Play!
Find a game and ball out. Kids play free, no tryouts — just the beautiful game.
A note for parents
- Players 10 and under need a parent or guardian to stay on-site.
- If your player is older than 10 but you have any concerns about their behavior, comfort, or needs, please stay on-site too.
- Otherwise, parents of older players are welcome to stay or drop off — it’s your call.
Please remember: this is open pickup soccer — not a camp or childcare. Our coaches and volunteers run the games and keep things positive, but they aren’t able to supervise or care for individual children. You know your child best, so please use your judgment about whether they’re ready to play on their own.
Sign the Waiver Before You Play
One quick form per player — kids and adults alike. Check in with a coach when you arrive so we know your waiver is on file. If you mark “no” for photo consent, your player will wear a yellow wristband at the field so our whole team knows to keep them out of photos and videos.
P.S. — free popsicles at every pickup! Sign the waiver, then scroll down for the cold, sweet details.
What you’re agreeing to
Where this applies. This form covers all For the Players Foundation programs and activities, at every location we use — pickup, coached training sessions, clinics, and events. Sign it once and you’re covered wherever we’re playing.
Voluntary participation & assumption of risk. Soccer and open play involve inherent risks, including injury. An outdoor grass field also brings uneven ground, weather, and changing light. Participation is voluntary, and I knowingly accept these risks for myself and/or my child.
Supervision depends on the program.
Conduct. I am responsible for any injury to others or damage to property caused by me and/or my child during the program — including the field, the goals, and the site we’re playing on.
Health. I and/or my child are healthy enough to play, and I’ve shared any medical conditions or allergies coaches should know about. I’ll tell For the Players if anything changes.
Emergency care. If I or my child need care and no emergency contact can be reached, I authorize For the Players staff to seek emergency medical attention; I am responsible for resulting costs.
Code of conduct. Friendly, all-ages, positive play. No slide tackling. I and/or my child will respect coaches, other players, and the field.
Safe, age-appropriate play. At pickup, players of all ages take part together, and coaches may group players by age, size, or skill when needed to keep games safe and fair. Coached sessions may be grouped by age or team.
