Why we rent it out

We built the Great Neck Pitch so every team in Hampton Roads has a real field to train on — good grass, real goals, a real backstop — at a price any team can say yes to.

Every dollar goes back into the field — mowing, seed, nets, goals, paint — and into free pickup soccer for kids. When your team books here, another kid gets to play. That’s the whole idea.

Same rate for every level. Rec, advanced, travel — nobody pays more, nobody shares the field.

The field

Grass
140 × 140 ft of natural grass, leveled and seeded, mowed every Friday.
Goals
Two 21×7 and two 24×8 goals are on site and included. Want smaller goals for your practice? Request pop-up goals in 6×4, 12×6, or 16×7 for an extra $10 per session, and we’ll have them set up when you arrive. Bring your own pop-ups if you like.
Backstop
190 feet of 16-foot netting behind the goals. Finishing sessions actually finish.
For the family
A playground for younger siblings, a covered picnic table for parents, marked parking by the field.

What’s on us

  • The whole field for your full 90 minutes
  • Two 21×7 and two 24×8 goals, ready on site
  • Add-on: pop-up goals in 6×4, 12×6, or 16×7 — $10 a session
  • Nets and a 16-foot backstop
  • A short plain-language agreement — your head coach signs, not your club
  • Makeups when we close the field for lightning

What’s on you

  • Balls, cones, and pinnies
  • Your coach runs and supervises the practice — an adult from your team stays the whole time
  • A certificate of insurance from your club naming For the Players Foundation and Great Neck Baptist Church (we may already have your club on file, or we can reach out to them for you)
  • Trash out, divots stomped, goals back where you found them, off the field by your end time
  • Church-property manners: park where marked, keep it quiet for the neighbors, no alcohol, tobacco, vaping, pets, or amplified sound

How booking works

One email to start. Most teams are on the field within a week.

Email your dates

Team, club, the dates and times you want, how many sessions. We check the calendar and confirm what’s open. No Sundays, and the last session ends at 8:30 PM.

Sign the agreement

We email a two-page field use agreement written for coaches, not lawyers. Head coach signs and sends it back as a scan or the original — not a photo.

Send the certificate

Your club or league sends a certificate of insurance listing For the Players Foundation and Great Neck Baptist Church as additional insureds. We may already have your club on file — and if not, we can contact the club for you. Most get it free from the state association.

Pay and play

We send an invoice: $50 a session, paid before your first one, online or by check. Then show up. The goals are out.

The agreement, in plain English

The full version comes by email after you reach out. This is everything in it, so nothing surprises you.

What you getThe field and the goals and nets on it, on your booked dates, for training. Whole field, every session. It’s permission to use the field, not a lease.
Fees$50 per 90-minute session, good through December 31, 2026. Paid in full before your first session. Not a donation, not tax-deductible.
InsuranceAt least $1,000,000 per incident and $2,000,000 total, naming For the Players Foundation and Great Neck Baptist Church, covering all your booked dates. No certificate, no field time.
ResponsibilityYou take the field as it is — grass, weather, changing light — and you’re responsible for your own coaches, players, families, and guests during your session.
SupervisionAn adult from your team is there the whole time. Your coaches and adult staff are background-checked, and every player has a signed release on file with the team.
WeatherPlay in the rain. Thunder or lightning clears the field for 30 minutes after the last strike. We make the call. If we close the field, ask for a makeup.
CancellingBack out before your first session: refund minus a $50 admin fee. After the first session, no refunds unless we cancel and can’t make it up.
The propertyIt’s church property and not open to the public outside booked time. Playground and picnic area are yours to use — leave them as you found them. Cameras run 24 hours a day.
